I&C Department

- Following main activities will be performed in I&C (instrument and control) department:
- Study of the whole system of instrumentation and indication on engineering flow diagrams.
- Definition of mechanical and material specifications for each instrument and relief valve.
- Preparation of the instrument list.
- Location of instruments on piping drawings.
- Preparation of drawings showing panel board layout and sufficient information for panel board supplier to prepare drawings showing back-of-board piping and wiring and hook-up arrangements.
- Preparation of drawings showing the air distribution system for the instrumentation, assuming that the instrument air is available at battery limits.
- Study and development of the pneumatically operated instruments and preparation of layout drawings, showing instrument pneumatic piping aboveground routing, including pneumatic junction boxes, within battery limits.
- Study and development of the electrically operated instruments and thermocouples and preparation of layout drawings, showing instrument electrical wiring aboveground routing, including electrical junction boxes within battery limits.
- Preparation of hook-up drawings showing schematically the connections of instruments to piping and equipment including all the necessary information for installation.
- Preparation of hook-up drawings showing schematically the pneumatic connections between field and board mounted instruments and control valves, including all necessary information for installation.
- Preparation of hook-up drawings showing schematic electrical wiring, as applicable, for electronic control loops, alarm and security systems, thermocouples, etc., including all necessary information for installation.
- Preparation of requisitions for the purchase of all instruments.
- Preparation of requisition for obtaining bids from construction contractor for the installation of all instruments and for the supply instrumentation bulk materials (instrument piping, wiring, fittings, junction boxes, supports, etc.) necessary for the installation of all of instruments.
- Detailed quantity requirements for such instrumentation bulk materials will be determined by construction contractor.
- Checking, at the extent required by contractor’s standard procedure, of data and drawings supplied by the manufacturer of instrumentation, in order to verify their compliance with contractor’s requisition and specifications.
